It was agreed that it would be sufficient to invite someone from the British Association of Straits Merchants. Sir John Hay, whose firm, Guthrie and

Company, was trading in Malaya, would be able to express his views on the Main Committee.

It was agreed that the first witnesses to be interviewed should include the representative of the M.P.U.

The Sub-Committee adjourned after agreeing to hold the next meeting as soon as possible after March 11th.
